" Annie Annie Explanation "

This is not meant as a " Save Annie " in the sense of trying to have Tribune continue the comic strip , which I believe id a lost cause .
It is more among the lines of encouraging Trib to continue among the lines they have mentioned of trying to continue the strip in other forms .
Most likely a comic book , I would think . 22 pages might be a touch less work than 24-27 dailies and 4-5 Sundays monthly

Mo' Annie.........

...Again , I am attempting to show Tribune Media that there is interest in a continuation of " ANNIE " , sufficient for them to seek out a new venue for the M-S team to continue the strip from where the newspaper version ends .
Oh , and please pardon any mistypes...

" Annie - Not Over " !

I am going to inaugurate a campaign here to try and raise interest in the " Annie " comic strip by Jay Maeder and Ted Slampyak , in an attempt to get Tribune Media Services , the owner of the veteran strip , to continue the adventures of Annie and Daddy , etc. in some form with the Maeder-Slampyak team continuing on it after the announced June 13 last day for the syndicated strip version !
I guess I really:
(1) need to get enough people interested to
(2) show Tribune Media enough of a groundswell of interest
(3) for Tribune seek/any interested parties to contact Tribune to try and liscence a continued version of the strip as done by M-S .
The comic is being ended in the middle of a story and Trib's person quoted in the story ( Which I'll link when I can . ) about same expressed optimism for continuing it in a non-syndicated strip form-So be it !
Seriously , I enjoy the M-S team's version . I think the story tries to do a miodern adventure continuity strip well , and the art updates Harold Grey's style well .
That's all for now , more later !

" Pearls Before Old School ?

Did anyone here see Stephen Pastis' " Pearls before Swine " comic strip on the 3d of this month ?????????
It would be at www.comics.com .
The joke in it , right after buying that Rolling Stone Top 500 Aging Baby-Boomer W/Attempts To Seem Current Songs special , it made me feel a little old to think that such a reference could be made on/was acceptable for Middle America's Everyday Funnies Page...

Wondercon - Albeit Belatedly.........

...Well (blush) let me say that the interview with Stan Freberg (and his wife - I'm glad I didn;t address her thinking that she was his daughter , as I first thought - she DID have pretty a similar nose and teeth in the pic , ya know-) , done by Mark Evanier , was nifty (I missed some:-() . Funny good ol' days stories , some of hi9s classic commercials shown (Including the Ann Miller one!)...
I got a lovely story from Murphy Anderson's wife of a pre-Katrina visit by her and Murph to the N'Awlins museum where the original art for the " Moldy Fig " ATOMIC KNIGHTS story is...:-)
Murphy , Joe Kupert , and Sergio Aragones were all nice enough to give me sketches :-) !!!!!!!!!
The Mark And Sergio Show was funny , naturallment...
