...........To finish up this look at the N.I. , let me note that , certainly on racial issues , it , actually , displays quite a progressive viewpoint (certainly for 1963) !!!!!!!!!!!
Bigotry is denounced , a letter from James Baldwin soliciting money for CORE is printed , with an N.E. endorsement , (though , if you're historical background-less , the use of the term " Negro " and even " colored people " may take you aback a bit) the prosecution & conviction of a Caucasian rapist of a black woman in the South is applauded...Oh , and the reason Jack Parr's hometown was boiling , no 1963 late-in-year parallel-to-us heat wave here , was that the " rich bitches " - actual quote - of Westport , Connecticut were PO'd that a Synanon house had set up in their area instead of their fave " phony charities " , " New York's bedroom " , I assume , must've been where Mr. W.C. lived at that time , but there's no more mention of him beyond that !!!!!!!!!
Synanon later devloped into a bad cult , but this was '63 , 'member (Re-mem-mem , re mem me membe , Re mem-mem...doot ! doot ! Remember whe-hen ! That night we fell in love/Beneath the stars above..)...

Mary Pickford was going to return to the screen in the life of Mary baker Eddy and , " an epidemic of mumps will sweep the Northeast with severe seriousness for adults of both sexes ! " ( oh , darn , I thought it said " sexlessness " ) .
There's a bunch of old-fashioned PG pin-up pictures of females , there's Want Ads , and a Pen Pal Club , but let's turn to the " Very Confidential " two ( pages of ads , where whoever owned this (packed) circled ads for " Spanish Friendship " and " Beautiful Spanish Girls " . He circled the lwttwr , from " Cynthia " , in " Miss Informed "'s humorous adsvice column saying " San Francisco has been going to the dogs ever since that milk man was elected mayor " (spelling and spacing as original) .
The " Still 15c " - 50c in Europe - paper's date is December 8 , 1963 - and a Page 5 picture of " Glamorous Susan Seaforth " mentions her , and J.F.K.'s promotion of rocking chairs - next to an item about Angie Dickinson , oddly enough .(!)

, except it DIDN'T - my glasses weren't on in a not-brightly/brightly-lit place ! - and it was in fact:

! And , yes , that was " SEZ " there . Woo-hoo !!!!!!!!!!!

I found a vintage 1960s weekly tabloid newspaper in a vintage magazines store yesterday .
(' Vintage " twice ! Gotta love it !!!!!!!!!!! )
It was the " national INFORMER " , out of Chicago , or just " Informer " , as the " National " in the logo was about 16 billion times smaller than " Informer "...Whay , YES , I think a certain trying-to-have-a-similar-name-to an already well-known-then tablod dynamic may well have been at play here !!!!!!!!!!!
